Welcome to Towan Class!
Towan Class is named after another of our lovely beaches a little further along the coast and are currently taught by Miss Emily Preston, assisted by Mrs Emily Rushe. Towan are comprised of a mix of Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children and are therefore fortunate to have opportunities to form friendships and enjoy learning opportunities both within their year groups and across the three age ranges. Children experience a broad and balanced curriculum, and access learning that has a focus on stage rather than only age.
Whilst all children in KS1 follow the same routines and curriculum in a cohesive way, learning is very much child centered and children work within small groups and as a whole class to gain skills and knowledge in a progressive and cumulative way. Children in Reception follow the Early Years curriculum and access their learning primarily through continuous provision but also through small group teacher led sessions throughout the day.
Towan love utilising the wonderful outside space as much as possible and in all weathers, so appropriate outdoor clothing is essential!
